Climate Change
Climate change refers to the impacts of human development on Earth’s long term
climate patterns. Climate change is caused by the emissions of greenhouse gases produced by humans. These greenhouse gases include carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, methane, chlorofluorocarbons, and more. These gases become trapped in Earth’s atmosphere and cause warming, which causes disruptions to global climate and weather patterns. Which human activities emit the most carbon emissions and greenhouse gases?
Energy production | The burning of fossil fuels (oil, gas, coal) for energy use.
Non-sustainable agriculture practices | Farming practices that causes large swathes of deforestation, excessive loss of topsoil, and the release of greenhouse gases
Transportation | Related to energy production, use of planes and cars.
